Brisbane's
hard-hitting outfit brindle may have taken plenty of stylistic
twists and turns over the years, but they have always been driven
by one aim... to do things they're own way. Over the past five
years this quartet has independently released three EPs (Brindle,
Stories and Classification) and one single (Catch/Candles) with
each securing national airplay and rave reviews around the country.
What's more the band has built a strong following around thanks
to regular tours and appearances at major festivals including
The Big Day Out on the Gold Coast. But now after locking themselves
away for the last few months, brindle have emerged full of energy
and armed with a batch of new songs that find them at a creative
peak. And the first taste of that new sound comes with the May
release of Fight You For It, the lead single from the forthcoming
(as yet untitled) album due out later 2004. Fronted by Deb Suckling's
emotive whirlwind of a voice, and built on a thumping rhythm section,
Fight You For It is brindle's most ferociously dynamic work yet.
Recorded at Brisbane's Black Box Studio with producer on the rise,
Emerson Bavinton, Fight You For It takes the band's sound to a
new level. The Fight You For It single release also features a
stunning remix of track, produced by Brisbane's acclaimed electro
outfit Fagan. Following the release of Fight You For It on May
3 through Funk Folk Records, the band will embark on a tour taking
in most of the east coast. From there, they'll jump headlong into
finishing their long-awaited debut long-player.
