Goose Vargis
is an edgy, melodic, rock band. Their style is unique and addictive
as they fuse classic rock with a modern flavor. Goose
Vargis combines blues, punk and rock into an aural tapestry
that has rarely been achieved in rock music.(Mike Parillo
of Modern Drummer) Their creative style and uncanny improvisational
skills has warranted some critics to compare them to, The Cream.
They have also been compared to, The Ramones from the hints
of punk in their music. The band sees themselves as a cross
between a heavier more guitar oriented, The Police and The Doors.
Goose Vargis was formed by brothers Steve and Jeff Delissio.
The line up features: Steve on guitar and vocals. His guitar
style is melodic and aggressive, combining rhythm and lead into
one. He compares himself to early Eric Clapton. Steve takes
most lead vocals. His vocals are clean and blaring, very dynamic
with much emotion, reminiscent of Jim Morrison. Jeff on
drums and vocals. His drum style iscomplex and rudimentary,
he pushes himself to make each song different and to bring the
drums to the forefront, he compares himself to Carl Palmer and
Ginger Baker. Ruben Perales on bass. His style is solid, steady,
thundering bass lines that accentuate the songs. Goose
Vargis has just released their debut self titled CD that was
recorded by the renowned Paul Speer at Rainstorm Studio. The
CD features 9 tracks that represent the different styles of
the band as they are layered with hooks and melodies. You can
find hints of blues and punk standing out. Goose Vargis boasts
over 25 original tunes and many covers in their repertoire.
They have been called purely ad ictive rock by the
TRI-STATE REVIEW and groundbreaking by the EAST
COAST MUSICIAN.Goose Vargiss goal as a band is to not
be pigeonholed into one style or format of music. They want
to bring a focus back to good song writing and solid instrument
play; and away from some of the bland and typical music of late.
They enjoy taking chances musically. Goose Vargiss name
comes from an explorer of the 1500's, for the band sees themselves
as explorers of music, and enjoy being on the edge.
