"Love Missile" manage to combine the political nous of the Clash with the power of the Sex Pistols and yet sound fresh and original. A neat trick if you can pull it off and they do (They're even better live). In AUG 2001 a close friend of Mike’s has a near fatal accident. Mike comes out of semi retirement to write a tribute song for his friend. Thankfully he survived. In september 2001 Mike starts writing a 12 song concept album, taking a satirical look at every U.S. president from FDR toBush Jr. In October 03-Love Missile appear in NME for the first time touting their US Burning Bush 2004 Tour, which intends to follow Bush on his campaign trail in an effort to oust him from power. In response to the article Channel 4express an interest in doing a documentary and an American promoter contacts the band with a view to putting on the Tour.
