Named After legendary singer Maxine Brown, singer-songwriter-producer Nanette Maxine is establishing herself as a successful and multi-talented urban/neo-soul talent. This prolific composer brings consiousness and PASSION to song. Anyone who has HEARD this songstress knows that she crafts the sweetest harmonies and RAW soul throughout her music. She is a true VOCAL stylist. Born and RAISED in Virginia {home of Missy, Timbaland, and The Neptunes) just south of Wash DC Nanette Maxine first began developing her passioniate and soulful vocal style in a southern baptist CHURCH. All through school she continued her LUV for singing and defined her EAR for music. An encore performance of a Dionne Warwick classic CROWNED her homecoming queen. This queen reigns in the studio indeed. Her fasinating ability to sing, play keyboards, and produce allows this artist comfort in the studio where she emerges a VERSATILE and prolific composer. Somehow she is able to write across genres, R&B, Contemporary Gospel, Neo Soul, Pop, and Hip Hop! Winning the 2001 10th annual R&B Billboard Music Award, 2x winner of BOTH the 1999 & 2001 Unisong International Song competition. Moreover, she was honored and awarded (by the late and great Sammy Cahn) The National Academy of Poplular Music's Abe Oleman Scholarshipfor EXCELLENCE in songwriting. Nanette Maxine won the 2002 Michael Jackson-This Dream Contest (a collaboration with Michael Jackson and David Foster through TonosPro), the Mid-Atlantic Songwriters Contest, the Songwriters Association of Washington contest, the Portland & Dallas Songwriters competitions, just to name a few.
