My name is David
Hardie, i'm 23 years old from Irvine, Scotland.
I've been playing solo since April 2004, when I quit a covers
band to play my own material. Things started well with high
profile gigs at the Septemb Ayr festival in Ayr, and the Kirkmichael
Festival in May & June of 2004. Since then my music has
played second fiddle to my personal life. A drop in gigs
has left me more time to get some writing and recording done. "Shoebox
of Memories" was recorded entirely at home and has a very
raw sound. I like to keep things as simple as possible. I'm
a big fan of Damien Rice's simplicity. I don't like to compare
my music to other peoples but I listen to artists like Counting
Crows, Jesse Malin, John Mayer, Goo Goo Dolls & this does
show through in places i'm told. Some of my bigger successes
have come under the guise of "2 Feet Deep. This was
an acoustic duo i formed with my friend Kenneth Hutchison. The
idea was supposed to be a one off to help out a friend but we
ended up winning a battle of the bands and getting free recording
time.
From the resulting CD we got 2 tracks played on Pulse Unsigned
Radio and put on an Unsigned compilation CD "Built to Perfection".
