He was born in the Flatbush area of Brooklyn, New York. Growing up, Rayn experienced poverty, violence and crime first hand. From shoot outs in front of the building to murders outside of the candy store on the corner every other week, it was hard for Rayn's mother to keep her sons out of jail and the cemetery. She had to be very resourceful. 
Growing up, one of Rayn's first musical experiences involved when his mother bought him a Casio keyboard. He took interest in the piano. She went on to go as far as buying him his own karaoke machine once she discovered his passion for rhyming inspired by his cousins who were already making a mark in the city with their unique Bronx style.
Rayn would write rhymes everyday. Whether he was commuting on the train, sitting in class or downtown Brooklyn selling pencils and things with his family. Although he possessed a quiet temperament, Rayn would never shy at an opportunity to display his lyrical skill. Battling in ciphers was his passion.

The family moved to Houston in attempt to escape the turbulent streets of New York. This was the place where he found the style to add to his already sick lyrical scriptures. Houston was a different world when it came down to rap. For example New York had DJ Clue and Ron G who speed the records up on their mix tapes while DJ Screw who was an up and coming DJ at the time in Houston would slow the music down. Confused at first, Rayn quickly adapted his style to fit his southern surroundings while remaining true to his east coast upbringing by keeping it lyrical and edgy.

Now after years in the south he's back in New York City with �The Rayn Campaign�. It's about time rap music had a new president, a person who can raise the bar, a person who knows and loves rap, a person who will stand for something and just won't fall for anything. Rap needs someone who will make us laugh and cry, sing and dance and inspire us all with his words. Rap needs Rayn. �The Rayn Campaign�. CAST YOUR VOTE!!!
