Bridgefield are an original five-piece band hailing from the North West of London/North London. They create an extremely diverse blend of Emo Rock/Pop which they write and produce at their Machine 9 Studios, based in Thame, UK. The band comprises of: Tola Lamont, Vocals; John Woods, Guitar; Rob Goss, Bass; Matt Manning, Drums; Martin Kent, Keyboards. To give you an idea of the Bridgefield sound, comparisons have been made in the past to a wide array of artists such as: Garbage, The Cranberries, Blondie, Echobelly, and Alanis Morissette - to name but a few. However, the only way to get the true Bridgefield sound is to have a listen for yourself, as with 4 songwriters in the band, the influences are diverse and plentiful! Concluding then, that there is no direct pigeon hole that Bridgefield will be going into easily (or willingly)! The current line-up has been together for 4 years, with the recent addition of Tola Lamont on vocals early in 2005. Bridgefield has been writing as a unit, for a while, performing in and around London at such spots as: The Garage in Highbury, The Half Moon in Putney, The Rock Garden, The Bull and Gate in Kentish Town, Gossips in Soho, Last Rockers at Camden Lock, The White Horse in Wycombe and The Horn in St.Albans. 2005 sees the release of Bridgefields latest CD entitled ‘Get There’. The album consists of 15 diverse tracks all of which feature the toppy guitars, emotional vocals and rich keyboard pads characteristic of Bridgefield music which demands your attention from start to finish. ‘Get There’ is partly a re-mix of Bridgefield’s first album, Another Day, but now featuring the vocal talents of singer/songwriter Tola Lamont. It also contains some new tracks, including a new track co-written by Tola and Woody. ‘Get There’, via solariserecords.com and cdbaby.com. Lyrics explore a diverse range of themes, from off-the-wall subjects such as: Machine 9 ­ totalitarianism; Burning Sun - global warming; Staring At The Moon ­ schizophrenia; Get There ­ the title track, put simply? Downright being a ‘lil’ bit sarky! (surely not?!); and lyrics simply expressing heartfelt emotions, such as ‘I Believe In You’.
