1998, between the four walls of a little apartment more use as a drinking place than a living place, two young guys overcome by the thirst of music were continually scratching riffs on their guitars. Joss was occasionally rehearsing with friends among them was Andre (Dede) Pelletier, another guitarist who also shows the intention to make part of the band. Three guitars, no bass, no drums… Some day in a little coffee shop, Fred announced he’d let his place of guitarist in the band to Dede to play bass in the band. Still one more to find… seeking for a drummer. Anybody having a basic knowledge of the drum was tried in vain. Until the day that a little man squat and over excited, nicknamed “The human truncheon” Julien Marcotte, offered his services as a human metronome. FREEMIND was born! After some years with many events, (supporting act of ANONYMUS, Molson Dry rock contest, demo recording and many more shows...) the professional links between Julien and the band were broken. He left the band to reorient his career and the audition started again. If the first drummer has been hard to find, he’ll be hard to replace too. No one has been selected after many endless auditions. But one day, a guy gave us the recording tape of a show made with his cover band. It was enough for us to give him a particular attention and give him the chance to show us his talents. He successfully did it, ‘cause after only few minutes playing with him, we found back the flame that used to light our eyes a long time ago. For now, Jeff Lamy was the new drummer of the band. For a while, the relationship with Dede and the rest of the band were more strained. That considerably slows down the evolution of the band. We weren’t done with changes yet. Pat Giroux, a young guitarist filled with talent and ambition gave us a new start. He joined the band and allowed us to materialize our project of a studio album.
