Pete Mitchell alias Stratmaster is from the UK. In the 1970’s he jammed with Muddy Waters, while working with his own band ‘Special Brew’ which included Roger Giffin from ‘The Magic Mushroom Band'. With this band, he was playing all the UK college circuits as well as the bars and clubs. He was signed to Dick James Music in London. He was close to landing a big film track in 1977, unfortunatley he was beaten by Jeff Beck. In the 1980’s he worked with Carl Wayne from ‘The Move’ on a solo project. An album of original songs, self penned which were recorded at Olympic studios in Barnes UK. In the 1980’s and 1990’s he worked with his own band ‘Drive’ Rocking Boogie Blues Power Trio, playing and touring the bars and clubs around UK for over 10 years. From 2000 to 2005 he was recording and writing etc. In 2005 he started working on his solo CD project ‘Cutting The Mustard'. All 10 tracks on the CD are self penned original songs and are guitar driven. He is passionate about the Blues in various forms and passionate about his guitar. 'Cutting The Mustard' is in the genre Crossover Electric Blues / Country-Rock. Stratmaster has also released his new book to co-incide with the CD. This is an autobiography about a struggling musician, working across 30 years, around the bar and club scene. A must for all striving musicians. Imagine Freddie King with the drive of Billy Gibbons, the feel of Stevie Ray Vaughan and you have Pete Mitchell alias Stratmaster.
